 The Generator has rooms that are shared with other guests but also private rooms, with private bathroom. |

 Most of our dorm rooms at the Berlin hostel are mixed, but we do have a few female-only dorms. Ladies, please specify that you would like to be in a female-only dorm when you make your reservation.
Males and females may share private rooms. Where group bookings are made, we leave the decision to the group leader if they wish males and females to share, but we do not have any rules on this matter. No floors are single sex, but the male and female showers and toilets are separated.

 All bedrooms at Generator hostel in Berlin are non-smoking. This is for safety and convenience. However, most communal areas apart from the kitchen are smoking areas.

 For the rooms with no facilities the shower and toilet facilities are on the corridors. There is approximately one shower to 5 people and one toilet to 4 people when we are fully booked. All hostel facilities are cleaned daily and are open 24 hours. Hot showers are available free of charge at all times.

 The dorm rooms at the hostel all have lockers (remember to bring a padlock with you to lock it!), and if you have booked a private room you have your own key to that room.
Yes, safety boxes are provided on the reception level should you wish to secure passport, tickets, money, laptop computer etc. The cost for using these boxes at the hostel is 1 Euro every time you relock the box.

 Breakfast is included in all the hostel rates. It is a basic continental breakfast buffet and is served from 7.00 am – 10.00 am. We also provide a cooked English breakfast and things like fruit and orange juice. These items are provided at a small charge.

 From 6pm – 9pm every evening a dinner buffet is served. We have daily specials, as well as a choice of pizzas, salads, chips and desserts. |

 Yes we have a bar at the Berlin hostel, which is open from 6pm – 2am. We sometimes open it at other times if there are big events like concerts, sports events etc. We have 3 large flat-screen televisions surrounding the bar and a jukebox which are both free of charge. We operate a Happy Hour period from 6pm - 9pm where you can get large beers for € 1.50, as well as many spirits and mixers cheaper. All prices are lower than Berlin Bar prices. Events will be organized several times a month, please watch the ‘what’s on’ in Berlin section where we advertise the events.
